UNITED ENGINEERING - A Business That Puts People Before Profit

Profit maximization is the main goal of any business. But the true measurement of success for any business lies in the satisfaction of its customers and the socio-economic well-being of each and everyone associated with it. United Engineering’s founder and present chairman Mr. J.V. John is one of those successful business owners who put their customers and people before profit.

Starting in 1973 as a small fabrication unit today, United Engineering Pvt. Ltd. (www.ueiindia.com) has become an established and leading manufacturer of heavy engineering fabricated components, railway bridges, boilers, heat exchangers, industrial coolers, fin tubes, fabricated assemblies of HT/LT stator frame, traction motor components, and many more. Their manufactured goods are not only supplied in India but exported globally to countries like Spain, Japan, Italy, China, and Germany to name a few.

In 2003, Mr. Neil John successor of Mr. J.V. John joined hands with UEI. He says, “I’ve spent my childhood less in the playground and more in our factory. I got inspired by my father and learned the importance of sticking to your roots in business.” He added that everyone in this company is equal and is empowered to think and act like an owner.

In the domestic market, UEI caters to leading power sector companies like NTPC, PGCL, NPCIL, BHEL, KPCL, PSPCL, MPPGCL, and STPS. Recalling his early days at UEI Mr. Neil John says, “All this success came after a big struggle. When I joined this company, we had around nine employees and our only patron was BHEL, Bhopal. With the great vision of the company and continued support of our people we have garnered a rich clientele for ourselves in this domain.”

UEI’s main plant is centrally located in Bhopal, India. The company claims their Bhopal plant is spread across 95,000 square feet and houses a mechanical lifting facility that has scaled up from 20 tons to 40 tons and now up to 80 tons. With hard work and determination, the company expanded its another unit in Bangalore, Karnataka which mainly carries out defence projects.

United Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd. has won many awards and recognitions for dedicating their skills and themselves to the noble cause of manufacturing Heavy Engineering Quality products for society. Currently, they are focused on their new venture of EPC for supporting the Indian government's ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ which will develop facilities that convert waste plastics into high-quality oils.
