Walking around the streets of Bangalore, we witness several newly constructed structures, each one appearing to be better than the last. In a competitive environment, we find very few developers who provide world-class living standards, and one such developer is ‘ANIKA’.

Mr. Nagesh Alegowda, the founder of Anika Developers (www.anikadevelopers.com) named his company after the brilliant jewellery adorned by Goddess Lakshmi. As a developer, he wanted to go beyond developing concrete structures and provide people with world-class living standards and contemporary workplaces that are unique, extraordinary, stylish, and pocket-friendly. Every building is unique due to variations in its architecture, design, and Anika takes pride in exceeding expectations each time.

Mr. Alegowda did his schooling at the National High School & National College, Basavangudi, and completed his graduation in Industrial Production Engineering from Bangalore Institute of Technology. He enjoys sports and is an avid golfer, and he is an active member of numerous sports, social, and community organizations.

Anika Developers has consciously walked the path of transparency for its clients, leaving an indelible mark of being one of Bangalore’s most trusted property developers through numerous successful residential and commercial projects.

Hailing from a business background, Mr. Alegowda was initially involved in developing layouts in 1992-93. This was the time when illegal layouts were prevalent, and unsuspecting buyers were taken for a ride. Mr. Alegowda, on the other hand, went above and beyond by providing an option that was above board—a well-designed layout complete with amenities such as underground drainage, underground cabling, and streetlights.

The buyers were impressed with this. From there, he moved into the development of residential and commercial buildings, and many buildings throughout Bangalore bear witness to his dedication to providing world-class units.

He claims that the construction industry, particularly the residential segment, has strong forward and backward linkages with other sectors of the economy, as it generates employment both directly and indirectly.

Mr. Alegowda has witnessed some trends in the real estate market post the pandemic. According to him, "Residential customers are looking for more common areas and lung space, as well as amenities such as work from home alternatives. Commercial customers are now looking at spaces for distribution centres to facilitate the movement of goods. Similarly, hotels are looking to add space in their kitchen for takeaways. Instead of becoming more concentric, office space demands are dispersed across the city".
