As young students, we are expected to choose a career path and determine what the rest of our life is supposed to be like. We adapt our attitudes and outlooks based on our life experiences while our perspectives and personality keep evolving. Some decide to follow that development and go for a career change maybe once in their life or never but for some, their interests are varied, and being labelled into a specific box is not what the spirit needs to feel accomplished and creatively fulfilled in life.

Delhi-based businesswoman Somya Singh (@somya-singh) refused to be put into a corner and did not let societal limitations hold her back. She decided to take her widespread background in philosophy, mass media, and law and run with it and create her niche. Having worked as a TV correspondent at a news channel and an RJ, she felt she had to do more. Coupled with her background in bankruptcy law, corporate law, business law, and consumer law, she has an edge above the rest in the industry.

She is uniquely qualified to provide Legal Consultancy and Media Monitoring services. AvantGarde Corporate Communications provides financial consultancy and mentors start-ups from beginning to end. Somya has also completed her “Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)” certification and plans to offer training for the same, as only a safe and healthy environment can create a successful working space.

She is a practising lawyer actively working on and presenting cases for a diversified client base and taking up pro bono cases regarding social causes, socio-environmental issues, and women-centric causes. Somya is truly a superwoman with a finger in every pie.
