Advocate Padmaja Pathak started her journey into the realm of intellectual property in the year 2005. She has been practising for the last 15 years in intellectual property related litigation which specifically includes trademark infringement suits, patent infringement suits, passing off suits, copyright infringement suits, trademark revocations, design infringement and cancellation petitions. Currently, she is the co-founder and owner of Legalance LLP, specifically dealing in IPR matters single-handedly.
She began her career with Amitabha Sen & Co, Delhi. Adv. Pathak has completed her Master in Law from Bharati Vidyapeeth deemed-to-be-University in Business Law. She is also associated with the MSME Dept of Govt. of India and has conducted IP awareness seminars in and around Maharashtra for entrepreneurs. Padmaja has been a part of intellectual property disputes worth crores and the portfolio includes big names like Burger King, Tata, Kirloskars and many more. Her journey of IPR has been scaled by her and her firm caters to more than 300 clients in India and overseas.
Adv. Pathak has also delivered lectures at various start-ups and at renowned colleges. She is also the founder resource of the intellectual property cell at St. Mira's College. She was also a guest faculty at NIIPM, Nagpur. Adv. Padmaja Pathak was awarded the Most Powerful Women in IP India in 2021 by WIPF for her ongoing commitment and contribution to creating, protecting and securing Intellectual Property Rights.
She believes, “Intellectual property, more than ever, is a line drawn around information, which asserts that despite having been set loose in the world - and having, inevitably, been created out of an individual's relationship with the world.”
