Believing in the Sanskrit slogan "Vidyathe Goshu Sampannam" (meaning "We don't feed the cow, the cow feeds us") and conveying the message "The cow is Lakshmi" to society, the Gophala Trust (www.gouphala.com) was established in Sri Samsthana Mahabaleshwar, Gokarna in January 2018. However, production-related activities started in July 2018. Currently, they have stores and distributors in Karnataka and Kerala and are working hard to roll it out nationwide.

The main objective of the Trust is to collect products produced by cows (Go janya), enhance their value, and then ensure that it reaches the maximum number of people. It is also used for the research and development of cow products and supports centres that do so. To achieve these goals, the Trust works to improve the livelihoods of rural people while educating urban dwellers about healthy alternatives.

Gophala Trust is a company that treats the cows as family. The Trust collects products produced by cows (Go janya), enhances their value, and then ensures that it reaches the maximum number of people. Their products are all organic and biodegradable. It includes cow dung logs, Panchagavya-based liquid manure, cow dung-based fertilizer, pots, lamps etc.

The production process involves collecting raw materials (such as cow manure and other necessary materials), processing (purifying manure) and converting them into products (using secret recipes in a hygienic environment).

Their products include:

  • Gojwaala: Cow dung logs, used as a substitute for cow dung cakes and firewood.
  • Dashasara: A Panchagavya-based liquid manure that promotes root growth and boosts immunity for all types of crops (long term and short term).
  • Swargasara: Cow dung-based fertilizer that enhances soil fertility by improving the ecosystem of soil microorganisms. They provide plants with essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
  • Cow Dung Pots: An eco-friendly, biodegradable pot made of pure Desi breed cow dung.
  • Godeepa: A lamp made of cow dung and fragrant wood, known for purifying the environment and spiritually uplifting spaces.
  • GouGanesha: A water-soluble, eco-friendly Goumaya Ganapathi for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Following current trends in organic farming, many farmers have switched and tried Gophala Trust products. Going by their positive reviews, it is safe to say that these products are perfect for those interested in natural and organic farming.
